The Traditional Head Table

The Traditional Head Table is a classic that looks fabulous no matter what! One of our most popular selections, the Traditional Head Table typically consists of several eight or six foot banquet tables placed in a row. Or you could even use our 10 ft. farm tables to create a unique look for your traditional head table. For this layout, the bride and groom would be seated at the center of the tables with their bridal party on either side of them. This set up is a great way to keep the most important people in your life close to you on such a memorable day. This seating is also a great way for all guests to get a perfect view of the bride and groom as well as the entire bridal party.

You can also try the Traditional Head Table with a twist! Instead of using all banquet tables, try adding a small round table in between two or more banquet tables as a special spot for the bride and groom to sit.

The King Arthur Head Table

One of our personal favorites at The Goei Center, the King Arthur Head Table is created by joining two eight-foot banquet tables or two 10-foot farm tables together at their long edge to make an extra wide table. In this set up, the newlyweds would be seated at the top end of the table as the guests of honor, with their bridal party seated along each of the sides. Depending on your bridal party size, you can extend the length of this layout by adding additional sets of tables.

The King Arthur Head Table is perfect for a couple who wants to easily communicate with their bridal party throughout dinner. This set up is also great if you are planning to include plus ones for your bridal party at the head table or want any family members extra close to you. Since this layout doubles up on tables, there’s also a significant increase on the amount of space to set décor, glasses, cutlery, chargers, plates, etc.

The U-Shaped Head Table

The U-Shaped Head Table offers a lot of flexibility in its layout. Typically, we see this done with three (or more) eight-foot banquet tables or 10-foot farm tables set in an upside-down “U”. Depending on the size of your bridal party, additional tables can be added to lengthen the “U” Shape and add more seats for your wedding party. Somewhat of a hybrid of the Traditional and King Arthur style head tables, the U-Shaped layout allows for the bride and groom to be front and center, while also keeping their bridal party nearby.

The U-shaped head table arrangement is not only visually appealing, but it also helps to promote conversation between the wedding party members. The open end of the "U" allows guests to easily interact with the bride and groom and each other during the reception.

The Serpentine Head Table

Looking to make a statement with your head table layout? The Serpentine Head Table might be the one for you! This look is done by using curved tables to create a beautiful snaking effect in your reception space. These are special tables often rented from event décor companies, and are worth every penny for the elegant and unique charm they bring to your reception. Pair these stunning tables with a five-foot banquet table at the head to make for a most memorable head table look.

This creates a visually striking effect that allows all guests to have a clear view of the bride and groom.
